Remember the feeling when a historic place and art took your breath away?

What are your thoughts on migration? We'll explore both voluntary and involuntary movements that have shaped the world we live in today. How has art been impacted by these migrations, and what stories do they tell?

And of course, we'll discuss the iconic Venice - a historic seaport that has been attracting nomads for centuries with its vibrant glass, rich textiles, and breathtaking architecture.

Join our ART TALK with "the nomad curator" Sheila Zago to discuss "The PLACE" as a powerful art context: the fusion of new and old, intertwined and alive, art shows that transcend boundaries and connect us to our roots, our history, and the world around us. Sheila is a curator at the art collective _CONEXUS Project, that works across the globe on nature-based solutions and ecosystem restoration. She curated shows on four continents in countries such as Azerbaijan, Egypt, India, Italy, Lebanon, Pakistan, Syria, the United Emirates, and the United States.

A Venice Biennale insider, Sheila will talk about projects in the famous art museums housed in old customs buildings and shipyards.

MEET SHEILA
An art educator and curator, Sheila Zago holds a Master's Degree in Arts - Museum and Galleries Practice - from University College London (UCL). Her online signature is @thenomadcurator: a main channel of research and dissemination of the production of different contemporary artists, with special emphasis for authors from the Global South.

Living and working on four continents, she developed artistic and educational projects for biennials, art collectives, social projects and refugee camps in countries like Azerbaijan, Egypt, India, England, Italy, Lebanon, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Thailand. As an educator, she defends art as a means of connection, applying it as a powerful tool in social transformation in personal and collective spheres, which manifests itself in her special interest in working with refugee groups and people in communities not recognized by local governments.

As a contemporary art researcher, her interests are focused on issues involving societies in the process of disappearing, loss of identity, memory and diasporic movements arising from colonialist practices, pressure from neocolonialists or armed conflicts, and art as a way to give minorities a voice.
